About Harbourtown Dance Studio
Harbourtown Dance Studio was founded by Brittany Drost in 2013. We are thrilled to now be located at the new Harbourtown Fine Arts Center at Vermilion Old Town Hall. The facility is located at 736 Main Street in the heart of the Vermilion's historic Harbor town district.

Since opening in 2013, the studio has grown tremendously. Harbourtown Dance Studio presents two different shows throughout the year, competes nationally, and also participates in a number of community events in the Lorain County area.

We are excited to introduce Caitlin Veard as our new Intro to Ballet/Tap instructor. Caitlin has been dancing for well over a decade. She has had, and continues training in multiple styles of dance including Ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, modern, and musical theater. She has done the majority of her training with a local pre-professional dance company, where she has performed in productions such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, and others. Ms. Veard is currently involved in the Early Childhood Education program at Lorain County Community College. She also teaches at  MovementWorks Dance and Fitness in Amherst, OH.

Inspirational words:

Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance. Great dancers are great because of their passion.

-Martha Graham-

(pioneer of modern dance)

Brittany Drost founded Harbourtown Dance Studio 2013. She acts as the executive and artistic director as well as choreographer. Brittany currently teaches advanced jazz, contemporary, and ballet classes.
Brittany has been dancing for over 20 years. She has had training in many dance forms including ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, character, and modern. Brittany received her core training under the direction of Ms. Iris Kris. She then continued her advanced training at The Ohio Dance Theatre in Oberlin, Ohio. She spent two years as the Vermilion Soundsation director and has choreographed for numerous local musicals.

Brittany is also the founder and executive director of Harbourtown Fine Arts center established in 2018. Harbourtown Fine Arts Community Center and Theater is a non-profit organization dedicated to making fine arts accessible to Vermilion and surrounding communities through education, community outreach, and performance and exhibition opportunities.

Brittany's desire for a local dance studio for her own children and herself inspired her to begin teaching. Brittany has a BSBA from BGSU and is thrilled to combine her business experience with her passion for dancing.

Aside from dancing, Brittany enjoys living in Vermilion with her wonderful husband and four beautiful children.
